Site Assurance Engineering Lead- Vanderlande Industries, Bahrain
Job Description
Tasks External Onsite,
1.Should be able to act as a key member of the Site Management Team, wherein would be a front face of Vanderlande towards the stakeholders and ascertain site presence for technical queries.
2.Should be able to influence decision-making process of the Engineer/consultant by providing appropriate inputs and demonstrate proper attitude to safeguard Vanderlande interests.
3.Has a substantiated and integral understanding of BHS and the way systems work, furthermore also knows how it relates to other disciplines/contractors within Construction and Airport Operations/Maintenance.
4.Puts across Vanderlande requirements for interfaces (physical/operational/system) with other parties involved. Eg. Screening machines supplier, ICT contractor, main contractor etc.
5.Builds and maintains constructive working relationship with all stakeholders, in particular VI customer and subcontractors.
6.Anticipates any challenges that could arise during execution of Project beforehand and prepare for mitigative actions that may be required.
7.Represents Vanderlande in meetings with the client on technical aspects like Progress meetings, construction meetings, weekly site walks etc.
8.Answer queries and manage expectation of all parties including end-users for technical aspects avoiding escalation to formalized correspondence requiring project management follow up
9.Ensures client understands and accepts his responsibilities under the contract to deliver all pre-requisites for Vanderlande well in time and completeness to ensure seamless project execution.
10.Should be able to take critical approach in respect of customer queries and be able to carry on asking questions and check whether the proposed solution will actually solve the problem while clearly drawing a line between contractually agreed scope and additional requirements. This relates to change management.
11.Understands contractual requirements and limitations to explore opportunities at the fullest and get the flaws eliminated or at least addressed.
12.Creates and innovates new ways of reporting to the client to maintain and enhance Vanderlande interests whilst maintaining client satisfaction. Eg. “Field Status Update Reports”
13.Creates ways of communications and protect Vanderlande interests by formal documentation. Eg. “Early Warning Notices” to highlight and cover Vanderlande position onto any and every aspect of site execution.
14.Strategic documents to be created to have firm agreements when multiple stakeholders are involved. Eg Benchmark Installation.
15.Prepares or contributes effectively to any site communication towards the client like daily reports/weekly reports/ monthly reports/escalation reports etc.
16.Executes and plays an important role in creating any required budgetary and contractual method statements with all applicable risk assessments.
17.To be able to address any rejections from the engineer (technical consultant) (like the ones for non-compliance reports, Inspection rejections etc.) in close cooperation with the project management team
18.Competent to take over any pending discussions/actions with the technical consultant towards completion. (eg. BHS O&M accessibility/dolly Simulation/O&M activities/Training Activities etc.)
19.Deputy Site Project Manager in his absence
Tasks Internal Onsite,
1.Bridge gaps between Engineering and site team to ensure installation teams are familiar with the assignment (time, cost, quality) enabling a seamless start.
2.Should be able to act as a SPOC (Single point of contact) for multidisciplinary Engineering activities onsite, mainly hardware and physical installation related.(Veghel<->SPOC->Site)
3.Capable to train/instruct/direct and facilitate installation team on work fronts and address queries/challenges to realize uninterrupted installation.
4.To be capable to register additional work and necessary changes of plan for onward communication to the Project team.
5.Implement use of agreed quality and reporting procedures and tooling, policies and practices, also eventually provide suggestive feedback for improvements or new requirements in VI processes.
6.Self-reliant in executing projects and ensure most information is made available locally, in case required from project team should liase accordingly.
7.Address any ad-hoc requirements from other disciplines onsite and see how does it translate to Vanderlande WOW. Request project team for actions accordingly.
8.Provide feedbacks to the project team to be able to minimalize office travels and efforts onsite. Like MVTP strategy, inspection and testing strategy etc.
9.Requirement gathering from relevant contract documents and critical focus to pick up topics that might risk Vanderlande position onsite.
10.Local sub-contractor management and identification of requirements in conjunction of other requirements onsite with the aim to properly forecast and arrange resource demand.
11.Should be able to conduct and ensure tasks like quality inspections etc are executed to agreed plans and customer satisfaction.
12.Provide timely inputs for planning department and accordingly set requirements for shipments, travel plans of various resources, next requirements etc.
13.Directing and controlling works for any subcontractors like Steel etc. Liaise in the weekly meetings with Subcontractor/Veghel and Site.
14.Acts with a high degree of initiative, independence, ownership and drive to win.
Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and development program in support of quality, delivery and cost performance metrics.
15.Lead projects in the middle east on basis to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, improve performance of suppliers, and improve project implementation results
